Millions of infants and toddlers toys have been recalled due to possible Lead Paint and/or Lead being used in the manufacturing process of the toys. These toys could be deadly or could cause severe personal injuries. It is important that everyone understand that Lead and Lead Paint Exposure and plastics containing Lead can be very dangerous for young children. Lead exposure is especially dangerous for young children under six years of age for they are still growing.  It is without debate that a young child's brains is still developing and is more susceptible to expose to lead.

Everyday across the United States and around the world small children inadvertently put toys in their mouths. If lead is ingested, it can cause behavioral problems, learning disabilities, seizures and in some reported cases death. The recalled Fisher Price, Mattel Toys, and Thomas the Train and hundreds, if not millions of other toys "Made in China" may contain lead.

Fisher Price and Mattel and the makers of Thomas the Train have issued a recall for millions of toys. The toys involved in the Fisher Price, Mattel and Thomas the Train recalls, were for toys Made in China. These toys were manufactured with lead paint.  Fisher Price and Mattel have offered to exchange any listed defective toys for vouchers good for a replacement toy of equal value. Consumers who needed to return a product are instructed to contact Fisher-Price or Mattel.  If you believe that a child has suffered lead poisoning, do not return the toy, it will be needed by the Injury Lawyers on the case.

Lead poisoning and the symptoms of lead poisoning often mimic other illnesses. Be on the look out for irritability; loss of appetite; weight loss; sluggishness; abdominal pain; vomiting; constipation and pallor from anemia. There are often little to no signs that a child has been exposed to lead, and a blood test is the only way to determine if someone is suffering from lead poisoning. Mild cases of lead poisoning are treated by ending the lead exposure and having the patient submit to follow-up blood tests. A treatment called Chelation Therapy is used when children test positive for high levels of lead in their blood. Under current United States Regulations, children’s products with more than 0.6 percent lead accessible to the user are subject to recall. As you may know Lead Paint and Lead itself has been virtually banned from the United States since the 1980s, due to the dangers to children.
