James Knight came to Texas from Florida in 2006 to be with his wife who serves as a medical officer in the Army. Mr. Knight was born in Washington, D.C. and spent his formative years in Knoxville, TN and Tallahassee, FL.

Mr. Knight has served as an officer and enlisted infantryman in the United States Marine Corps. Before returning to civilian life in 2001, Mr. Knight attained the rank of Captain and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for service during Operation Allied Force.

Mr Knight holds a JD from the University of Florida, a Masters in Business from Boston University, and a BA from Hampden-Sydney College. Mr Knight has been in the practice of law since 2004 and holds licenses in both Texas and Florida.

Prior to joining Carabin & Shaw in 2007, Mr Knight has served as an Assistant State Attorney for the 8th Judicial Circuit of Florida and as a Real Estate Attorney for the US Small Business Administration.
