In Texas it is a crime for an attorney or his or her employees to call or approach the family of an accident victim. It is unlawful for a lawyer, whether directly or through a paid person, a capper, a coyote, a runner, an ambulance chaser or steerer to solicit for financial gain a client who has suffered an injury or loss.
