Senior Passenger Killed After Golf Cart Flips Backwards on the North Side

According to a KSAT News report, a man is dead after being ejected in a golf cart accident in the Stone Oak area this week.

Police reported the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the 900 Block of East Sonterra Boulevard on March 19th. A 2024 Icon golf cart was traveling up a steep incline when it flipped backward and landed on its passenger side for unknown reasons. A senior passenger, later identified as Robert Andrew Rowton, was ejected from the cart and killed. Another passenger was also ejected and taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. The driver told police they were conducting a mechanical test on the golf cart due to a similar incident being reported. No criminal charges are pending for this case.
