pexels-pixabay-263402-300x199Jan. 3, 2021: NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — One person is dead, and three others are hurt after a crash Tuesday night December 29th near South Business 35 and McQueeney Road in New Braunfels. 

Emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle rollover crash at about 11:45 p.m. When they arrived, they found a Ford Explorer had lost control and rolled over, hurting four adults inside including the driver, who was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver, identified as 47-year-old Carlye James Donaldson of San Antonio, was being transferred to a nearby hospital when he died en route police said. 

pexels-pixabay-263402-300x199December 15, 2020:  POLK COUNTY, Livingston,Texas — Two people are dead following a crash last week in the early morning of December 8th in Deep East Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, troopers responded to a two-vehicle major crash around 6:50 a.m., on US 190, about five miles east of Livingston. 

The preliminary crash investigation indicates an SUV was traveling east on US 190, while the driver of a car was traveling westbound and reportedly attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone and struck the SUV head-on.

Police said the driver they believe is responsible is now facing felony murder charges. 

Officers said the crash happened at the intersection of Jensen and Parker around 11:30 Saturday night. According to police, they were chasing a vehicle after a driver, identified as 45-year-old Brian Okeith Tatum, reportedly ran a red light. He was estimated to be driving more than 100 mph.

Houston police say it started when Harris County deputies tried to stop a driver for running a red light. The driver didn’t stop, but instead took off at a high rate of speed and slammed into the rideshare car.

Compared to last year at this point in 2019, there were 17 fatal traffic crashes. (APD)

The incident happened along the 5500 block of East Parmer Lane on the northeast side.  The driver of a Hummer H3 was moving south over the eastbound lanes of the street when she failed to yield to a 2008 Mercedes-Benz ML3 driven by Cain Perez Estrada, 34.  The Mercedes struck the passenger side of the Hummer injuring the two children passengers.  The children were transported to the Dell Children’s Medical Center with serious trauma.  One of the children, Daminik Lopez, 9 died from her injuries 5 days later. The other child also underwent surgery for their critical injuries and that child’s status is still unknown at this time.  The driver of the Hummer’s name has not been released by the police.

Estrada was also injured in the accident and was transferred to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries.  After he was discharged, he was then arrested by Austin police on DWI which is believed to be a contributing factor in this accident.

March 10, 2020, Houston, Texas: Three men are dead and a fourth is in serious condition after a violent high-speed crash in northeast Harris County on Friday, March 6th.

Arturo Mireles, 19, the driver of a white Honda Civic, was speeding on Aqueduct Road near North Lake Houston Parkway when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a tree around 2 a.m., Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. The driver and front passenger were killed instantly, while one of the two rear passengers died on the way to the hospital, Gonzalez said.

(Corpus Christi, January 27, 2020) Two men were killed in an accident with a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 181 outside Normanna last week. The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the victims as Mark Wesley Swisher, 61, of Fort Worth, and William Charles Mego, 74, of Arlington, who were both were killed when their Dodge pickup truck was struck head-on by an 18-wheeler.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the accident scene about 9:56 a.m. on Wednesday the 22nd about a mile south of Normanna in Bee County.

(AMARILLO, Texas –  January 18, 2020)  Authorities said at least one person is dead after a wreck near I-27 and SE 34th Overpass in Amarillo at about 8:20 a.m. on Thursday January 16th.  A member of the Randall County Sheriff’s Office said 18-year-old Evelyn Jasmine Rios died on the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. 

Details given were that a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Evelyn Jasmine Rios, of Amarillo, was headed westbound when she lost control of the Jeep, slid into oncoming traffic and hit a 2011 Mazda Tribute, driven by a 17-year-old male from Amarillo.  The 17-year-old was taken to the hospital with what was initially thought to be life-threatening injuries.
