Recently, State Representative Dan Huberty was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after allegedly crashing his Corvette into a minivan. According to a local news report, the collision occurred in Montgomery County, TX, in the evening hours.
Evidently, when law enforcement officers arrived on the scene, they discovered Huberty’s Corvette “parked under a minivan.” The three people in the minivan at the time suffered minor injuries, and Huberty was uninjured. Huberty told police that he was on his way back from the legislative session in Austin.
One of the deputies who arrived shortly after the accident heard Huberty explain that the driver of the minivan slammed on her brakes, leaving him no time to stop. However, an unrelated witness to the accident told officers that Huberty ran a red light and that he didn’t apply the brakes before rear-ending the minivan.

Recently, two school busses in Texas City, TX, were involved in a collision during afternoon drop-off that injured seven students. The accident occurred when two Independent School District busses were approaching the intersection of Bay Street extension and 25th Avenue North at around 4:30 p.m. Evidently, the first school bus pulled up to the intersection and stopped at a stop sign. The second school bus failed to stop in time, rear-ending the first bus. Authorities have not released the total number of students on board the busses, and the accident remains under investigation.
