San Antonio Express-News reported an accident involving an 18-wheeler on I-35 that occurred yesterday, May 15, 2023. For reasons unknown, a driver was going the wrong way on Interstate 35 near Fischer Road at 2:30 a.m. The driver swerved to miss three other vehicles and continued to drive the wrong way without stopping when he crashed head-on into an 18-wheeler. The police reported no injuries in either vehicle. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

A horrific three-vehicle accident Northwest of Corpus Christi leaves six people dead, according to an NBC News report. The police reported that a minivan was trying to overtake another vehicle in a no-passing zone when they crashed head-on into oncoming traffic. The vehicle that they crashed into was then rear-ended by another vehicle, killing six people between all three vehicles, including one juvenile passenger. Five others were taken to the hospital with “non-incapacitating” injuries, according to the police report. This horrific accident occurred on January 3, 2023.

(August 1, 2022) On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, a thirteen-year-old boy stole a car and live-streamed the event before crashing into a pole and killing his passenger, according to On Your Side News.

Officials reported that the oldest person in the vehicle was fifteen, and there was a thirteen-year-old driver and passenger, as well as one fourteen-year-old, for a total of four children. Authorities were alerted by concerned parents that their child was driving a stolen vehicle toward the Dallas area while live-streaming on social media. The stolen vehicle was spotted leaving the scene of a convenience store robbery before being found in a hotel parking lot at around 4 a.m. Police reported that the boy hit the patrol vehicle before speeding off into a light post, ejecting his thirteen-year-old passenger and critically injuring himself and the other passengers. The children were transported to the hospital, where the ejected passenger died from his injuries. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

Rollover Accident Leaves Man Hospitalized

An accident that left a man in his 60’s suffering injuries occurred on Tuesday night at a West Side intersection in San Antonio. According to the reports, the accident involved two vehicles, and it happened at the intersection of New Valley Hi Drive and Loop 410 access road. This accident took place at roughly 2:15 a.m. Although the reasons the vehicles collided are unknown, the initial reports reveal a passenger van and a small sedan crashed into each other. The force of the collision caused the van to roll over. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they took the male driver of the van to the University hospital in a stable condition. After the collision, the female driver of the sedan did not suffer any injuries.

(June 27, 2022) An off-duty Somerset police officer was injured, and one driver was killed in an accident in Bexar County on Sunday, June 26, 2022. The accident occurred on 1-35 South and Benton City Road at around 4:15 a.m. It is unclear what caused the accident, and the investigation is still ongoing. One vehicle had flipped over, trapping the unresponsive driver inside. Emergency Medical Services attempted to rescue the driver, who had not been identified, but they were sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The off-duty officer suffered a broken leg and a blow to the head and was transported to University Hospital for treatment in stable condition.

An hour earlier on the same night, a man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a brutal two-vehicle accident on the North side of San Antonio. The crash happened on Blanco and Basse at around 3 a.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022. For unknown reasons, a woman driving near the Allena Village shopping center broadsided a pickup truck. The force of the impact sent the pickup through a rock wall and into the shopping center’s parking lot. The driver of the pickup was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. It was not reported whether the woman was injured, and police are investigating the accident.

(June 9, 2022) Two crashes caused by negligent drivers going the wrong way left three people dead nearly a month apart. KSAT12 reported an incident on May 8, 2022, on Bandera Road near Zachry drive, where a driver of a white van going the wrong way struck two vehicles at around 10:30 a.m. He was found unresponsive at the scene, and then he died later at the hospital. The other two drivers were seriously injured though they did not receive any life-threatening injuries and were in stable condition. It was not reported whether or not the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Another incident on June 5, 2022, found a driver heading northbound on South Interstate Highway 37. The driver of the 2013 Ford Focus collided with another driver of a 2011 Toyota Corolla at around 2:30 a.m., as reported by KSAT12. The driver of the Toyota was sent into another vehicle and then redirected into a grassy median due to the impact. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Head-on collision accidents usually have very serious consequences. The damage to vehicles and drivers is almost always severe or life-threatening. An accident that led to injuries sustained by two individuals occurred early on a Monday morning on the city’s Southeast Side. The crash happened at roughly 1 a.m. on SE Military Drive near South W.W. White Road. Initially reported, the female driver and one passenger were heading down SE Military when the driver couldn’t control the car, and it rolled over numerous times off the road.

The police stated the driver was able to escape the car. However, the passenger, unfortunately, had to be extracted by firefighters. They were both hastily transported to Brooke Army Medical Center. While the driver is listed as stable, the passenger is unfortunately in a more severe condition.

(April 20, 2022) On Monday, April 18, 2022, a head-on collision on the far East side of Bexar County left one person dead at the scene, as reported by News4SA. The accident happened Monday night at around 10 PM on Loop 1604 near Farm-to-Market 1346. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and deputies reported that a red pick-up truck crashed head-on with a black Sedan. It is unclear who is at fault at this time. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was transported to the hospital with a broken leg but no life-threatening injuries. Teenager Killed in Texas Construction Zone Chain-Reaction Car Accident

Even attentive drivers can be caught off guard by an unexpected hazard on the road. One common type of unanticipated event is a car accident involving other vehicles on the road. Evidently, a driver was heading northbound on I-35, approaching Shanklin Road, when they approached a construction zone. At this portion of I-35, the highway was restricted to one lane, resulting in a significant traffic back-up. The driver failed to notice that traffic was stopped due to the construction and crashed full-speed into the rear-most vehicle.

Accident Report: Driver Dead, Three Others Hurt in Tuesday Night Crash in New Braunfels

pexels-pixabay-263402-300x199 Jan. 3, 2021: NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — One person is dead, and three others are hurt after a crash Tuesday night December 29th near South Business 35 and McQueeney Road in New Braunfels.

Emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle rollover crash at about 11:45 p.m. When they arrived, they found a Ford Explorer had lost control and rolled over, hurting four adults inside including the driver, who was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver, identified as 47-year-old Carlye James Donaldson of San Antonio, was being transferred to a nearby hospital when he died en route police said.
