The driver stopped at attempted to help the woman, who later died of her injuries at the hospital. A 22-year-old man is dead after being hit head-on by a wrong-way driver at around 1 a.m. on May 30, 2023, according to a San Antonio Express-News report. The 39-year-old wrong-way driver was arrested and charged with intoxicated manslaughter, as well as two counts of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15, and two counts of injury to a child causing bodily injury-reckless, as he had two children in the pickup with him at the time. All of them were transported to the hospital with minor injuries after the crash, and the 22-year-old died of his injuries at the hospital.

San Antonio police are looking for a driver that hit and killed a cyclist and then fled the scene, according to a San Antonio Express-News report. The accident occurred early Friday morning, just before 2 a.m. when drivers on the 3500 block of Roland Avenue reported a mangled bicycle with a man next to it on the side of the road. According to the police report, a driver failed to navigate a turn at a curve in the road and clipped the cyclist, driving off without stopping to assist him. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.

On April 23, 2023, at 4:15 a.m., a 23-year-old woman was pulled from her vehicle deceased after a single-vehicle accident where witnesses say she drove from the access road to I-10 West, hitting the barrier and landing on her roof, according to a KSAT News report. The police did not indicate that this was the result of drunk driving – however, the citizens of San Antonio are well aware that drunk driving incidents frequently end in tragedy like this for the perpetrator or their victims.

(February 27, 2023) Police identified the body of Noel Hernandez (29) after recovering his body from the Guadalupe River in Seguin. According to MYSA News, the Seguin public information officer Jennifer Sourdellia stated that the department received a call after a speeding vehicle on I10 was spotted losing control and tumbling off the bridge and into the Guadalupe River at around 2 a.m. on Thursday, February 9. It took the police several hours to find and extract the vehicle and the deceased driver from the river. As far as they could tell, there were no other passengers, and no injuries were reported from this tragic accident.
