The 39-year-old wrong-way driver was arrested and charged with intoxicated manslaughter, as well as two counts of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15, and two counts of injury to a child causing bodily injury-reckless, as he had two children in the pickup with him at the time. The accident occurred early Friday morning, just before 2 a.m. when drivers on the 3500 block of Roland Avenue reported a mangled bicycle with a man next to it on the side of the road. According to the police report, a driver failed to navigate a turn at a curve in the road and clipped the cyclist, driving off without stopping to assist him. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
