Recalled GM Cars Linked to Multiple Deaths

According to a recent report commissioned by a consumer watchdog group, a staggering 303 deaths may have been the result of a defect in General Motors' recalled 1.6 million cars. This goes to show that the true scale of the issue has been unknown to many for a long time. GM has only acknowledged 12 deaths that're related to the faulty ignition switches in their recalled cars, which can completely shut down the cars' safety systems.

There's been an increasing number of accidents being linked to the fault with GM's recalled cars. Initially, 31 accidents were connected to the vehicles with a faulty ignition switch, but that number has been rising ever since massive media attention has surrounded the issue. It's very important to call a the law offices of Carabin Shaw 800-862-1260 if you or a family member has been injured or killed as a possible result of the problem, and now is the optimal time to do so. GM has admitted fault and therefore liability. Now is the time to act.

The Center for Auto Safety sent a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, providing them with statistics taken from accident reports that're related to 2 of a total 6 models of car recalled by GM.

General Motors has admitted to being at fault for their incredible lack of oversight. It has been revealed in court depositions that GM had prior knowledge about the dangerous ignition switch fault, even when the models that have been affected were new. This was discovered through their submission of a history of events to the NHTSA, or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It was used to demonstrate that the process utilized by GM to examine the issue wasn't anywhere near as thorough as it should have been.

GM has said in a statement that they're now "committed to doing business differently". They also claim to be carefully examining the entire chain of events before the issue arose, and say that they've learnt a lesson from this event. Many have been shocked by how such a reputable company has managed to literally hurt their customers in such a severe way. The events that're now being uncovered clearly demonstrate a major issue in GM's processes, which if left unsolved could potentially lead to more problems in the future.

Whilst all owners of the affected vehicles are being asked to contact their dealers to have a new ignition switch installed, it's of great importance for anyone that's been injured or knows someone that's been killed to contact the experienced attorneys at Carabin Shaw as soon as possible.
