(AMARILLO, Texas – January 18, 2020) Authorities said at least one person is dead after a wreck near I-27 and SE 34th Overpass in Amarillo at about 8:20 a.m. on Thursday January 16th. A member of the Randall County Sheriff’s Office said 18-year-old Evelyn Jasmine Rios died on the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
Details given were that a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Evelyn Jasmine Rios, of Amarillo, was headed westbound when she lost control of the Jeep, slid into oncoming traffic and hit a 2011 Mazda Tribute, driven by a 17-year-old male from Amarillo. The 17-year-old was taken to the hospital with what was initially thought to be life-threatening injuries.

(Tyler, TX Jan 15, 2020) Tyler police have arrested a 19-year-old for causing a crash, sending three people to the hospital Monday night. Shortly after midnight, police were called to the 10700 block o f highway 271, where 19-year-old Jasmine Gonzalez in a Mercedes-Benz was driving Southbound in the Northbound lanes of 271 when she collided head-on with a Nissan Sentra, occupied by a 35-year-old mother and her two children, aged 13 and 8. The mother and 8-year-old are currently in critical condition, the 13 year old is in stable condition. Gonzalez was charged with two counts of intoxicated assault with a vehicle and remains in the Smith County jail awaiting bond.

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT-LEVELLAND, Texas, Jan.7, 2020– One person has died and another was injured in a three-vehicle crash in Levelland on Tuesday. Police responded to the crash at 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of Texas Highway 114 and Lobo Drive.
Two of the victims, one of them an elderly man, were taken to Covenant Levelland. The elderly victim had to be transported by AeroCare to a Lubbock hospital and was pronounced dead early Wednesday morning.

(El Paso Jan 12, 2020) A motorcyclist was struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver late Thursday January 11th. The incident happened at the intersection of Raynor and Randall near downtown El Paso when a Dodge Ram pick-up ran a red light and struck the motorcycle. The victim, Celso Manuel Garcia (38) was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Ivan Romo (27) was arrested at the scene and charged with intoxication manslaughter. He is being held at the county detention facility. Romo, is currently a soldier stationed at Ft. Bliss.

SHELBY COUNTY, Texas — January 8, 2020 – A woman and a 2-year-old male child were flown by medical helicopter to the Shreveport Hospital following an accident on Wednesday the 8th. The early morning crash happened at State Highway 7, four miles east of Center shortly after 6:30 a.m.
Police believe the Ford SUV traveling west failed to control speed and hit a Dodge pickup from behind that was stopped for a school bus loading passengers. The driver of the Ford, 26-year-old Tiffany Mayfield, of Joaquin, and the 2-year-old, were taken to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport for serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge, 50-year-old James Beasley, of Marshall, was not injured in the crash.
DPS is investigating the cause of the accident.

(Marshall, Texas – January 5, 2020) Two people died and three were injured following a three-vehicle wreck just east of Marshall Sunday night. DPS troopers investigating the crash determined that Haley Lynn Carroll, 22, was heading east on US 80 in a Dodge Caliber when she stopped at CR 2218 intersection, waiting to make a left turn.
A Ford Mustang driven by Nathan Charles Guyer, 20, of Marshall, was also going east on US 80 behind Carroll’s vehicle, when he failed to stop and struck the Dodge Caliber. Police said the Dodge was then pushed into the westbound lane of US 80, where it was struck by a westbound Chevrolet Blazer driven by Jesse Wayne Wink, 69, of Marshall.

January 5, 2020:
LUBBOCK, Texas –One man was killed and two people were seriously injured after a Ford Fusion collided with a Ford Explorer in Lubbock, Texas on Jan. 1. The front passenger in the Ford Fusion, Jose Fraire, 28, suffered serious injuries and was transported to UMC where he was declared dead. The LPD Major Crash Unit responded to the scene and is still investigating the cause of the crash.
