ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT: DPS Investigating Deadly 2-vehicle Crash on Highway 84, Southeast of Lubbock

Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020: LUBBOCK, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety released updated details Thursday evening on a deadly crash that happened just after 1:00 p.m. Emergency crews responded to the crash along Highway 84 near County Road 7500 near the City of Slaton.

DPS reported a pickup truck with a trailer driven by Thomas Henry Erskine Jr, 18, of Templeton, California. The pickup truck was going southeast on Highway 84. DPS said a Tahoe driven by Berta Arispe, 59, of Colorado City was going northwest on the highway.

The pickup truck came upon a construction vehicle that was directing traffic over to the right lane for a construction company. The pickup truck, “took evasive action steering hard to the left to avoid other vehicles.”

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT: Three Killed in Head-on Crash on SH 105 Near Tarkington

October 5, 2020: The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the victims of the September 27, 2020 head-on crash on SH 105 about a mile east of FM 2518 in Tarkington northeast of Houston.

Two of the deceased victims are from Houston while the third is from Hardin County. They are Francisco Rivera-Rosas, 33, of Houston, who was driving the black Chevrolet pickup that veered into the path of another black Chevrolet pickup driven by Timothy Gannon, 56, of Saratoga. Both drivers were killed as well as a backseat passenger in Rivera-Rosas’ vehicle – Juan Salgado, age unknown.

Two other passengers were traveling in Rivera-Rosas’ vehicle – his 15-year-old son, who was uninjured, and 43-year-old Juan Salgado-Alvarez, 43, of Houston, who was seriously injured. Gannon’s wife, Kimberly Gannon, 57, also suffered serious injuries.

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT – Two Killed in Rideshare Car in Houston

Monday, September 21, 2020: HOUSTON – Two women riding in the back of an Uber are dead after police said a pursuit suspect crashed into the car they were in. Police said the driver they believe is responsible is now facing felony murder charges.

Officers said the crash happened at the intersection of Jensen and Parker around 11:30 Saturday night. According to police, they were chasing a vehicle after a driver, identified as 45-year-old Brian Okeith Tatum, reportedly ran a red light. He was estimated to be driving more than 100 mph.

Houston police say it started when Harris County deputies tried to stop a driver for running a red light. The driver didn’t stop, but instead took off at a high rate of speed and slammed into the rideshare car.

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT: One Confirmed Dead, Multiple Injuries Greyhound Bus Crash in North Texas Baylor County

Tuesday, September 15, 2020: BAYLOR COUNTY, Texas — Multiple first responder units were on the scene of a crash involving a Greyhound bus and a pick-up truck at U.S. 277 and U.S 183 in Baylor County, Texas on Monday afternoon.

The bus was headed eastbound on Highway 277 between Seymour and Wichita Falls in Mabelle when a pickup truck coming southbound on Highway 183 collided with the bus. The collision being hard enough to push the bus off the road and on its side.

A Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant said one passenger was confirmed dead, who has been identified as James Dayton Jones, 40, and multiple passengers were seriously injured. There were 29 passengers on the bus, including some that had been picked up in Lubbock.

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT: Fatal Car Crash in Edinburg Kills Pedestrian Girl and Injures Other

pexels-energepiccom-174936-300x225 Tuesday, September 8, 2020: The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash in Edinburg Sunday evening that left one girl dead and another injured.

According to the release, the accident occurred around 10 p.m. on Owassa Road between Tower Road and Val Verde Road where a woman driving a blue 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe struck two pedestrians.

The release says the woman was allegedly speeding and under the influence of alcohol and continued driving west on Owassa. She was later found near Earling and Tower roads.

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT: Three People Killed in Two Vehicle Head-on Collision in Los Fresnos

Wednesday September 2, 2020 Cameron County: The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate a two-vehicle head-on collision that left three people dead, including two children.

The accident happened at about 1:53 p.m. Wednesday September 2nd, on FM 803 North of St. Francis Street in Los Fresnos.

Killed in the accident was Maria Guadalupe Zamora, 49, who died at the scene. Zamora’s grandchildren, Ariel Castillo, 2 and Reynaldo Alvarado, 6, both of Port Isabel, who were traveling with her, were transported to local hospitals where they later died, the DPS reported.

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT: 3 Dead After Wrong-Way Crash in Haltom City

Sunday, August 30, 2020: HALTOM CITY, TEXAS: Three people are dead after a crash involving a wrong-way driver Sunday night in Haltom City, police say.

The crash happened at about 8:35 p.m. on the eastbound side of Interstate Loop 820 near U.S. Route 377, according to Haltom City police.

Police said a blue Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on the eastbound side of the highway and crashed into a grey BMW. When officers arrived, the BMW had caught fire.

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT: SUV Driver Dies After Crashing into Heavy Duty Wrecker in Houston

Thursday, August 13, 2020, HOUSTON, TX — A portion of Sam Houston Parkway westbound in north Houston was shut down early Wednesday August 14th, after a driver was killed in a crash with a tow truck, according to investigators.

The victim has been identified as a 23-year-old man. It happened about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes of Sam Houston Parkway Beltway 8 near John F. Kennedy Blvd.

The 23-year-old driver of a Chevy Tahoe was trapped inside their vehicle due to the accident and according to police, was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s still unclear what caused the Tahoe to crash into the tow-truck. The Parkway was shut down for several hours before reopening shortly after 7 a.m.

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT: Nacogdoches Woman Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash

Tuesday, June 17, 2020: NACOGDOCHES, Texas – A woman suffered serious injuries in a multi-vehicle crash in Nacogdoches on Tuesday. Police and fire units responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of N. University Dr. and E. Austin Street. According to a press release from the Nacogdoches Police Department, the accident happened at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday.

The investigation revealed that a GMC Canyon pickup driven by Zachary Cleveland of Nacogdoches was northbound on N. University and collided with a westbound Volkswagen car driven by Margaret Naranjo, also of Nacogdoches. The collision sent both vehicles northbound, colliding with a Ford Ranger pickup, driven by Lucresha Phillips, a resident of Nacogdoches.

The release said Cleveland and Phillips were uninjured in the accident, however Naranjo suffered serious injuries and was transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, and then later flown to a Tyler hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.

ACCIDENT INJURY REPORT: Man Arrested in Hit and Run Crash That Killed Stranded Motorist

May 23, 2020: San Antonio, TEXAS–The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday on Interstate 10 near the Dominion on the north side of San Antonio. Justin Antwan Jackson, 29, the driver of the 18-wheeler, involved in the incident is now charged with failure to Stop and Render Aid after his truck rear-ended a red Ford Fiesta that was stalled on US I-10.

The driver of the car, Donna Falkenberg, 46, was killed in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. San Antonio Police said she was not wearing a seat belt.

According to an arrest affidavit, Jackson was traveling southbound in the right-most lane when it neared the stalled Ford Fiesta, which had on its hazard lights. Jackson told police that he tried to avoid another vehicle that appeared to be crossing into the lane next to him and did not see the Ford until the crash was unavoidable.
